Powerlifting is a strength sport that consists of three attempts at maximal weight on three lifts: squat, bench press and deadlift. Powerlifting competitions may be comprised of one, two or all three of the lifting disciplines.  Athletes are categorized by sex, age and bodyweight. Each competitor is allowed three attempts at each lift, the best lift in each discipline being added to their total. The lifter with the highest total is the winner.  Whether you want to compete or not, Powerlifting can be a fantastic way to structure a strength training program.

Big Buddha Barbell has the equipment and Certified USA Powerlifting Club Coach/ CA State Referee with the experience to help you train for your first or next powerlifting meet. 

 We will create a program focused on injury prevention through proper movement and planning  based on your experience and fitness level.  Our program will focus on the three powerlifting disciplines: Squat, bench and deadlift with the goal to increase your 1RM, one rep max.   

We offer individual training sessions at our studio in Rancho Mirage, CA. 


We also provide online training/coaching. Our programming is based on your needs and goals. Whether you are a powerlifter getting ready for your next competition or wanting to get stronger and lose some inches, we can design the perfect individualized program. 

Your program is sent weekly via email. After you do the workouts, provide us with feedback so we make the necessary adjustments for the next week.  You will also have access to our private group page, where you can post questions or videos to be reviewed to insure proper technique. $120 monthly
